JUDAISM DISCOVERED (hardcover). Autographed First EditionOne of only approximately 175 autographed first editions in existence. In fine condition. $349 plus $20 shipping to USA or $40 shipping to Canada, or $60 shipping to Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Europe.

A Page from the Original First Edition of the King James Bible Printed in 1611

Approximate dimensions of the page:  9.75 inches wide and 14.75 inches high. Condition: two brown spots (or stains) in the right margin next to the verse from Romans 2:3. It also shows through the page to the back, therefore the other side of the page shows the same spot, at Romans 2:20. One brown spot is approximately one-half inch in diameter and the other is approximately 1/6 of an inch.

The page has tanned somewhat, but we will let you be the judge by asking you to carefully study the photos — they are an accurate image of the page front and back and have not been retouched in any way. There are no discernible tears to the page. Considering that it is 404 years old, this leaf is in very good condition; it is very suitable for framing and display.

I would imagine that many museums would be glad to own this leaf and to display it. I am not an appraiser, but based on asking prices for other leaves, in my opinion this is probably worth at least $4,500 or more. In my opinion this will only increase in value over the years.

Of course we have only one and if it is sold by the time you order it we will promptly refund your purchase price in full.

Here is an investment opportunity for owning one of the most prominent and treasured artifacts of western civilization. How can it ever lose its value?

This page comes with a certificate of authenticity and it will be well-packaged and shipped fully insured with tracking. (

You or your representative must sign to receive it).

Why Buy Rare Books from Michael Hoffman?
Rare Books: are not solely about scholarship or a fine library -- they are also often a superb  investment.
Besides providing beauty and enjoyment, a rare book can also provide a return on your investment. If someone told you that you could double your money in 10 years, then you would probably listen. Rare books sometimes double in value every 10 years. A book that sold for $1,000 in 2000 could possibly be worth approximately $2,000 in 2010. We cannot guarantee that this will happen with a book you purchase from us, but in the opinion of many, rare books are sometimes a very safe investment. A book collector can gear his or her library toward value and investment, and we will be happy to assist you in this endeavor.

Will every single book double in value every 10 years? Not necessarily, and that is why Michael Hoffman is one of the most learned rare book sellers today. You are buying from a scholar and a working professional historian. The rare books that Hoffman offers are books which have the highest likelihood of maintaining increasingly high values over time. This is no accident. He knows history and recognizes great writers and exceptional books of the past. Nearly all of our books are titles and editions which have been rare and in demand since they were printed. The books we offer are truly exceptional artifacts of history. Owning these books is owning a piece of history.

Building a collection or library of rare books is sometimes not only a shrewd financial decision, it is an activity that can provide you with significant knowledge of our culture and civilization, and the beauty of owning and beholding the book craftsmanship of the past: the printed book as artifact and art work. Most books from 200, 300 and 400 years ago were printed on paper and bound in bindings meant to last a thousand years. How much of what we manufacture today can boast a similar destiny?

Owners of rare books are custodians of history for future generations.
